Description
The Central Unit (CU) is the intelligent core of SwitchBee’s smart home solution and communicates by Radio Frequency (RF) to all the associated smart devices.
When issuing a command for the smart home via a Smartphone, the Smartphone will communicate by secure Wi-Fi or 3G (depending on its location) to the CU. This in turn will activate the relevant switch/s to perform the required action.
SwitchBee’s recommended RF ranges are:
- Indoor: up to 100 m range
- Outdoor: up to 500 m range
Note: the indoor range includes both brick and reinforced concrete wall
